Dedicated and dynamic educator with more than twenty years of experience working with at risk students, in both day and residential settings. Strong record of developing programs and curricula to remediate deficits and facilitate positive behavioral changes. Motivated, energetic, and passionate about improving education for at risk children and families, committed to improving learning experiences for diverse student populations. Holding a doctorate in educational administration and teacher leadership, with recent achievements in directing educational foundations and schools, including specialized accreditations. Vast practical business experience in formation, funding, budgeting, human resources, insurance, accounting, accreditation, legal, licensing, and compliance in educational and traditional business environments.

Dr. Lance Fein was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His parents moved his family to the United States in the 1970’s to provide greater opportunity for their children and to escape the increasingly volatile climate.
Dr. Fein attended the University of Florida and Florida Atlantic University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Neuro-Psychopharmacology. During his undergraduate years, he worked at an overnight summer camp catering to children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD and related behavioral and cognitive deficits.
Prior to committing to an educational career, Dr. Fein co-founded an Information Technology company specializing in remote access, intranets, web site design, and office efficiency. He is certified on Novell and Microsoft Networks. After several years, he sold the company when he decided to further his formal education. He subsequently received his Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from A.I.U. and his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Teacher Leadership from Walden University.
Dr. Fein has founded specialized day schools, overnight camps, and residential programs for at risk students. He has worked with specific needs and special needs populations since 1989. His areas of interest and expertise are child development, specifically high functioning children and adolescents who are not being successful academically or socially, due to deficits in life, social, or cognitive skills. His work with classroom management and intervention have formed the basis of the curriculum implemented at several schools.
Dr. Fein has conducted research projects involving students with social and communication deficits in an effort to improve cognitive functioning. He has presented his research and findings at several conferences and continually provides professional development seminars to parents and professionals within the community. Dr. Fein is the current Executive Director of Alternative Education Foundation, a non-profit entity which operates several day schools and camps, conducts research, provides parental support, and conducts professional development seminars.
He resides in South Florida with his wife and three children. His hobbies include traveling, skiing, golfing, diving, running, and cooking.
